이십대 초반 한 친구로부터 알게된 핑크 플로이드의 원숙기 앨범 <Animals>(1977) 이후 <The dark side of the moon>(1973)과 <Wish you were here>(1975) 앨범을 즐겨 들었고 좀더 시간이 지나 <Meddle>(1971)과 시드 베리트 시절의 초기 편집 앨범을 들었다. 특히 나는 <Wish you were here> 앨범이 초기의 중추적 멤버인 시드 베리트를 기리는 것이라고 해서 추모곡인 것으로 알고 있었는데 요즘 유트브에서 관련 영상을 보다가 시드 베리트가 약물중독과 정신병으로 탈퇴했고 2006년까지 생존했음을 알게 됐다. 1970년을 전후해서 시드 베리트를 대신해 기타 세션으로 참여했던 데이빗 길모어가 시드 베리트와 잠시 함께 활동한 시기가 있었으나 베리트가 완전히 빠지게 된 후, 길모아가 기타와 작곡, 편곡에 깊이 관여하면서 핑크 플로이드는 사이키델릭 락에서 프로그레시브, 아트 락으로 전환했다. 이 곡은 기회가 되면 가사와 더불어 선율도 카피하고 싶은 작품이다. 주요 음조는 Gm.
